Addison leaves the trailer after she’s showered, armed with a fresh cup of coffee.
Derek is barely visible in the distance, setting up his fishing gear. He hears the bang of the trailer door and turns to look for her, smiling like a little kid.
Addison pulls her bathrobe tight around her shoulders and wiggles her toes away from the wetness through her slippers. Her fingers curl around the sides of the mug, and she smiles into her coffee as she takes a sip.
In moments like this, on the far side of five AM when she's not dressed and he's wearing that stupid vest with his hair sticking out everywhere, she can almost pretend that she's happily married.
In moments like this, when he's knee-deep in water she's leaning against the trailer in that old bathrobe that never stays closed, he can almost pretend he's in love with her.
